Fairtrade Fortnight

As part of our Church contribution for Fair Trade Fortnight, we have taken delivery of 90kg of Malawi kitchen rice! If a farmer in Malawi can sell 90kg of rice at a fair price, he would have sufficient income to send one of his children to High School (only 1 in 3 children attends High School in Malawi). So please take the opportunity this week of buying a 1kg packet of rice – either in church or from Twelve – and eat someone out of poverty!

And since we are now Fairtrade churches, it is a great opportunity for us to use this fortnight to tell everyone about the benefits of fair trade. Do visit Twelve and buy some Fairtrade goodies this week.

N.B. Rhiannon will be sporting her new fair-trade clerical shirts!
